The onset of the pandemic led to a 180% increase in domestic violence deaths related to gun violence in our city. Moreover, a recent study highlighted that when a male abuser has access to a firearm, the risk that he will shoot and kill a female partner increases by 1,000%. In response to this pressing issue, the Indy Champions program was established to collaborate with community partners, first responders, and advocates to provide essential services to victims and survivors seeking to escape violence in our community.

The Indy Champions streamlines help to victims and survivors, bringing all Marion County agencies together and working with our first responders to better understand the system and amplify resources in our community for education, prevention, and awareness to serve our city better.
